ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Her first book was BAMBI, written and illustrated by Heather herself, and had a smashing one copy run on stapled notebook paper in the spring of 1977 when she was seven years old.  The colorful story of her Himalayan cat by the same name featured full page crayon drawings and a photograph of the poor, tortured creature dressed up in dolly clothes and looking absolutely murderous, glued to the back cover.

She was born and raised in Southeastern Connecticut, but has since become a transplanted New Yorker, having lived in WAAAAAAY Upstate New York (otherwise known as "Pretty Much Canada") for over 20 years.  She has fallen in love with the Adirondack Park in which she currently lives, and it holds an almost equal place in her heart with her birthplace beside the Atlantic Ocean.

The Great Literary Love of Her Life is the vampire.  From the first time she snuck a read of INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE in the back stacks of the Ledyard Public Library at age 9, she has had an unhealthy obsession with them.  Joss Whedon's brilliant TV shows "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" only made matters worse (she cut her writing teeth -- so to speak -- on romantic and erotic fanfiction based on their shared universe before it was cool to do it and you could make 80 gazillion dollars re-writing fanfic and take over the NYT Bestseller List), and Heather has been dedicated to creating romantic and exciting action stories of the undead ever since.  She has stated that she will read absolutely anything with a vampire in it, and all but two of her all time top ten favorite books are vampire stories. (The only exceptions include any creature that SPARKLES, unless it is a faerie.)

Not to be painted a one-trick bloodsucker freak, however, Heather also delves into time travel, contemporary suspense, paranormal erotica, horror and even has plans for a historical romance set near her birthplace at some time in the future.  She states her secondary romantic addiction to be Men in Kilts With Scottish Brogues. Preferably bearing Large Swords. *ehem*

She has a degree in Psychology and Women's Studies, and is currently pursuing a second in English Literature, since she's decided to spend the rest of her life exclusively in the company of books.  She is a proud Crazy Cat Lady, having forgone the production of a marriage or human children in deference to service to an extremely spoiled and demanding pair of felines. Her other interests include reading , sleeping, travel, meditation and yoga. She supports her fiction addiction with freelance writing on almost any subject under the sun.
